Thanks, Hierce PaQ!
Even without the title, even without the clever usage of coins dropping—this piece automatically conjures images of tents with glossaries of jewels, mounds of spices, selections of daggers, smoke rising from cooking food, and the chatter of eager sellers and purchasers.
The primitive harmony, appropriate instrumentation (particularly the usage of percussion), and steady rhythm really make this. The beautiful, quivering violin line gives it a human touch: the aural equivalent of a wryly old lady, by now an expert at turning a profit in her shop.
Absolutely effective, good job!
I thoroughly enjoyed that description. Thanks, Pierce!
